Thanks for visiting my new blog, Total Leadership. You may be familiar with Total Truth, my blog on issues in the Southern Baptist Convention. I will still be posting there about once a week, but for now I am going to focus most of my attention here.
I feel that many of the issues in SBC life are leadership related. I am continually growing in my personal leadership and have a long way to go, but God has been uniquely equipping me in this area through my studies in the EDD in Leadership program at Southern Seminary. I am ABD (all but dissertation) and I hope to have that completed in the next year. I will try to post here at least three times per week on issues related to leadership in the local church.
Please feel free to post comments and we can discuss many practical issues. I would love to get advice and to also work through various scenarious toghether. God Bless.
Hey Tad. I look forward to reading your leadership insights and contributing to the conversation. Being in a new environment and under new leadership for the past year and a half God has allowed me to see and understand different leadership styles from what I am used to (some good, some bad). Regardless of style, wise, Godly leadership is so incredibly vital to the church today, but it seems to be sorely lacking.
Take care man!
Thanks for being the first to post on my new blog! I really miss the fellowship we had at Bentonville. The more I am away from there, there more I realize how much I learned. I also have realized how much there is to learn still. Please contribute often…the purpose of this blog is not just for me to post articles, but for others to interact with each other and discuss various scenarios that we are facing currently in our churches in the area of leadership.
Tad
Tad,
This is Aaron Harvie, and I am the brother of Anne Slater in your church. Kameron is my brother-in-law but don’t hold that against me! Anne called me Sat. night and told me about your blog, so I checked it out. I am a SBTS grad 98′ and at dissertation time at Westminster here in Philly. I founded a church here called Riverside a SBC sponsored plant now church. I am interested to read your stuff on leadership and see how leadership issues are addressed in the traditional church compared to a new setting. Also, the dynamic of North vs. South in mentality. I will check in with you every now and then to gain your insights. I hope you have a great day.
Thanks,
Aaron Harvie
Aaron – great to here from you. I have enjoyed getting to know Anne and Kameron. We are building a house right down the street from them. I want to hear your insights as well…one of the purposes of this blog is to encourage dialogue on leadership issues. Be blessed and I hope to see you in the blogosphere!
Tad,
this is a great site. Real discussion about leadership among church leaders.
Thanks!
